2000 Stanford Commissioning
After four years of ROTC, six midshipmen are commissioned as officers into
the United States Navy and Marine Corps.

RADM Putnam, Stanford grad and our adopted admiral, spoke to the midshipmen
briefly before officers from the USS Boxer (our adopted ship) gave their
perspectives on the Navy in both small and large groups.

Nimitz Lecture
The lecturer for 2000's Nimitz Lecture, ADM Larson, former CINCPAC and Commandant of the
Naval Academy, spoke to midshipmen on ethics and leadership before addressing
Asia in his Nimitz Lecture.

Spring brought several fun athletic events, including Taibo and the Battalion
Field Meet.

Drill Team Trip to SCIDM
In March the Battalion's Drill Team performed at the Southern California
Invitational Drill Meet in Huntington Beach, where they were rigorously
inspected by several Marine Drill Instructors.

The same day as the BCO's Inspection, all of the platoons in the Battalion, the Color Guard, and the Drill Team show off their drilling skills.
1999 Drill Team Trip to SCIDM
In March the Battalion sent a four man drill team to perform at the Southern California Intergalatics Drill Meet in Huntington Beach. Here you can see the team spinning and marching away in addition to some of the other sights at the competition.
The New Wardroom
Thanks to the benevolence of an NROTC Berkeley alum, the Battalion received new computers and wardroom furniture in 1998-99. Here you can see midshipmen at work and play in the wardroom before and after the changes.
Spring 1999 BCO's Inspection
At the end of every semester the Battalion is inspected by the Battalion Commanding Officer, the highest ranking midshipman in the Battalion. Here you can see the Battalion looking their best in their Summer Whites.
Spring 1999 Inter-Battalion Field Meet
Once a semester the Battalion's four platoons take each other on in an inter-battalion field meet. Here you can see the competitive spirit and comraderie that permeate the Battalion.
Spring 1999 Field Day
While the Berkeley midshipmen were still enjoying their Winter breaks, the Stanford and Davis mids had a field day. Despite the rain outside, they enjoyed some motivating exercises and crab soccer.
Fall 1998 PNS Inspection
At the end of the Fall 1998 semester, the midshipmen got into their Service Dress Blues and were inspected by Commanding Officer William Craft and Executive Officer Lesa
